Tec Labs visits Galway in the final stage of the 3BAtwin project

Tec Labs recently traveled once again to Galway for the final visit of the 3BAtwin project, now approaching its conclusion. The main goal of this trip was to explore and better understand Galway’s innovation ecosystem, widely recognized for its strong collaboration between research, technology, and healthcare needs.

As part of the visit, the team toured the BioInnovate programme’s laboratory facilities, where the dual setup of wet labs and electronics labs demonstrates how interdisciplinary environments drive innovation in healthcare. The group was hosted by Dr. Eoghan Dunne, who outlined BioInnovate’s intellectual property (IP) valorization strategy, a key component for participants who continue their projects beyond the program. The proximity between researchers and clinicians within the facilities also fosters close contact, reinforcing BioInnovate’s need-led approach to innovation.

The delegation also visited the Health Innovation Hub Ireland (HIHI), an initiative that promotes the development of decentralized healthcare solutions across Dublin, Galway, and Cork. Geraldine O’Flynn welcomed the Tec Labs team and introduced HIHI’s mission to connect researchers and healthcare professionals to bring impactful innovations to market.

This visit marked Tec Labs’ last mission under the 3BAtwin project, strengthening international collaboration and reaffirming the commitment to innovation driven by real healthcare needs.
