Innovation

We work on a daily basis to bring innovation
and entrepreneurship to Ciências ULisboa through the following activities

ScienceIN2Business®

Technology Transfer

Industry Network

BioLab Lisboa

ScienceIN2Business® is an innovative methodology that we developed to promote and stimulate innovation and entrepreneurship topics and activities, within Ciências and ULisboa.

The methodology is based on annual cycles so it can settle and spread exponentially targeting an increasing number of students, teachers and researchers with which we collaborate.

Each cycle is divided into three stages, designed in a sequential, interdependent and replicable flow.

Find more info on each of the stages of the methodology and ways to interact with us!

  • Learning

When we developed this methodology we realized that we needed to start from scratch and change the way we
were teaching these topics at Ciências ULisboa to promote a mindset change. So, this component is divided in two areas:

Formal Education

If you are a student at Ciências ULisboa from Bachelor to PhD degree know that you have eight available optional courses to learn more about innovation and entrepreneurship on a project based, learning by doing, creative and gamified way. More info here if you want to embark on a life changing learning experience!

Non-Formal Education

Regularly we organize workshops and seminars on various topics related to innovation and entrepreneurship in Ciências ULisboa and other Schools of ULisboa (active collaborations with Faculdade de Farmácia, ISA, Faculdade de Arquitetura, FMH, among others)

  • Selection

On the selection phase we develop two activities targeted at researchers (Call for Projects) and researchers & students

(Impact Program).

  • Impact Program

PARTNERS:

The main goal of this Impact Program is to bring closer researchers, PhD students, and other professionals interested in innovation, entrepreneurship, and tech transfer, the main tools and methodologies that will help them have more impact with the knowledge and technologies they are developing. We will do so with a program composed of 7 blended (online/in-site) sessions in close partnership with Oxentia, a consulting firm from Oxford (UK).

The training program is based on learning by doing and challenge base approaches and focuses on methodologies such as design thinking, business model canvas, lean canvas, and pitch canvas. Participants are challenged to apply these tools to specific projects of their own choice and will have simple deliverables every week to put into practice the tools we are providing in each session.

Enrollment in the course will provide you with 1ECTS, a diploma issued by Ciências ULisboa, and will require an investment of 100€ (95 € of the course fee  + 5 € registration fee). The program will have a minimum of 15 participants and a maximum of 25 to guarantee the quality and hands-on approach of the training activities.

Do you want to know more about the program? If so click below.

How does it work?

Until 6 of June

:: Application process and selection of participants

20, 22, 27, 29 of June and 4 & 6 of July

:: Blended training sessions

On 11 of July

:: Final presentation of the work developed by the participants with a panel of experts which will provide feedback to the participants

  • Call for Projects

How does it work?

Scouting and selecting the finalists

:: We want to get to know the best applied projects within ULisboa.

Capacitation

:: Finalists will have access to a capacitation programme that will help them develop their projects, bring them closer to the market and prepare them for the Final Event.

Network

At Ciências ULisboa we cover a wide range of the key scientific areas with:

So, there are many ways in which we can collaborate with industry partners. And if you are one and willing to be part of our ecosystem don’t hesitate to reach us, since we are working on a new model for this network and will have more news coming soon.

BioLab Lisboa is the result of a partnership between Lisbon Municipality, Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon and FCiências. ID with the aim of implementing an open and multidisciplinary Innovation Ecosystem.

This open concept ecosystem allows citizens, educational institutions, and public and private organizations to co-create new concepts for citizens and for Lisbon through scientific knowledge. This partnership aims to promote training, capacity building, experimentation, prototyping, proof-of-concept, acceleration, and value creation in the area of Biotechnology.
