Our participation at EIT Health BridgeHead programme is still strong and this year was no different. The BridgeHead programme joins European healthcare startups and CATalysers (incubators and accelerators from several European countries), and together they define the best partner and country to implement their internationalisation plan.
As part of this program, in the past year we worked with the Swedish startup Health Textiles, in partnership with BGI, Biocant and PACT, culminating in a pilot conducted at Cantanhede Hospital and Luz Saúde Residences (you can read about the results of this pilot here).
Last week (18 to 20 of May 2021) was the 1st annual cut of the BridgeHead Europe track and the matchmaking event. On the first day, CATalysers had a moment to meet each other and to share experiences and good practices of incubation and acceleration, and a second moment to make 3-minute pitches about their work and services, that can be provided to the finalist startups.
On the second day startups were the stars and had to pitch about their product and what are their perspectives for internationalisation. After that there was a series of one-on-one meetings, allowing startups and CATs to get to know each other a little more and explore opportunities of collaboration. At the end of June these startups are supposed to have their CAT chosen and start their work plan with a view to taking their solution to different European markets.
