Ciências ULisboa’s spin-off R-nuucell is a semifinalist of EIT Health Catapult program

While many were enjoying their nice summer holidays, R-nuucell founders, Maria Helena Garcia, and Andreia Valente got the news that they were selected for this year’s edition of Catapult, a competition and training program promoted by EIT Health that gathers Europe’s most promising life sciences and health tech start-ups and connect them with leading experts and investors.

To reach this semifinal, our spin-off has gone through a very competitive preselection process at a regional level. They will now have access to high-quality training from experienced entrepreneurs, investors, and experts in the field. The top nine start-ups will be selected to pitch during the finals at Bits & Pretzels HealthTech, an event that will take place in Munich on the 5th and 6th of June of 2024, and to compete for a prize of 30,000€ and in-kind industry prizes.

R-nuucell mission is to develop innovative chemotherapeutics to treat metastatic cancer. Since their foundation in 2021, they have paved a successful path with achievements on different stages from which we highlight the participation in the InnoStars Awards competition promoted by EIT Health (2021), the investment of 100k € that they raised with the support of Tec Labs within the scope of the Call INNOV-ID by Portugal Ventures (2021) and the European Innovation Council Women TechEU grant that they have won (2022).

We can’t wait to see what’s coming next and wish them the best of luck for their participation in Catapult!
