Yesterday, we were at the 2nd MetaRedX Meeting, an initiative that brings together Entrepreneurship Units of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) from across the country to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.
The event took place at the historic University of Coimbra, the oldest in Portugal, offering a day filled with activities and discussions about the role of this network and the opportunities that arise from being part of it.
Although a national meeting, we had the opportunity to check with our latin-american peers and take advantage of their experience in countries with differences in maturity level. They analyzed the lack of female entrepreneurs, the need for good execution of funds and supporting people instead of ideas.
We also got to know interchange programs and prizes to acknowledge the most prominent HEIs promoted by MetaRedX.
Then, we were divided into four working groups: Entrepreneurship Ecosystems, Entrepreneurship Indicators, Units Direction, and Training & Capacity Building. We were at the Ecosystems one and discussed the improvement of existing forums and on upgrades to the ongoing development of a platform to map HEIs at the national level, divided by regions. This tool aims to enhance collaboration and resource sharing between Institutions.
In addition to the discussions, the event included a guided tour of the University of Coimbra, giving us the chance to explore the rich heritage and history of one of the world’s most prestigious universities.
The next MetaRedX meeting is already scheduled and will take place in November 2025 in Évora and we can’t wait to be there!
