Pollen, a startup incubated at Tec Labs, has officially emerged from stealth mode.
The company develops a universal battery-swapping network for electric mopeds and motorcycles, designed to accelerate the transition to cleaner urban mobility. Its system allows riders to replace a depleted battery with a fully charged one in under a minute, addressing one of the key barriers to large-scale adoption of electric two-wheelers: convenience and accessibility.
The startup has raised a €3.2 million seed funding round led by Pale Blue Dot and Mustard Seed Maze, with participation from Kfund, Bynd, 4P Capital, Masia, and a group of experienced mobility-focused angel investors. The investment will support the expansion of Pollen’s infrastructure, team, and commercial operations as it scales across European cities.
Pollen recently launched its first operational battery-swapping network in Lisbon, with stations already active at selected Galp service stations. Operating 24/7, the network eliminates charging downtime and reduces range anxiety for both individual riders and commercial fleets.
Following its launch in Portugal, the company is already preparing its international expansion, with Spain identified as its first market outside Portugal and a key step towards building a broader European footprint.

“Cities can’t hit their climate goals while millions of everyday rides still run on petrol. But people won’t switch just because something is electric. They want a simpler and more affordable way to get around. Universal battery swapping makes two-wheeler electrification practical at scale, and this round lets us bring it to more riders and fleets. Lisbon is where we start, and this round is the first step toward making fossil-fuel-free urban mobility the obvious choice across Europe,” said Rui Bento, Co-founder and CEO of Pollen.
Pollen’s emergence from stealth mode and successful seed round mark a significant milestone in its growth journey, reinforcing the momentum behind innovative mobility solutions being developed in Portugal.
The Tec Labs team congratulates Pollen on this achievement and looks forward to supporting its continued expansion across Europe 👏
